Julianne
was born and grew up in Cambridge, Ma., the "university
city," home of Hahvahd, Radcliffe, Lesley, and M.I.T. -- and lovingly
known to its residents as "the People's Republic of Cambridge."
From the city, she moved to Sherwood Forest (er, Winchester, Ma and
the Middlesex Fells Reservation/Conservation District) with her parents
and brother, where she lived happily with the family and her bows and
arrows for several years. During this time, she graduated from Emmanuel
College in Boston with a B.A. in English Literature and then from Simmons Graduate School of Library and Information Science with
a Masters in Library Science, teacher certification and a certificate
as a Library Media Teacher. Since then, she has moved
three times, most recently into a real house (We're gonna get
to gut the bathroom and re-do it? Hooray! The roof leaks? Oh, no! Ah, the joys of home ownership). And there still isn't
enough room for all the books she and her husband Frank possess.
Julianne edits Deryni
Archives the Magazine, works as a Library Media Teacher in a school
library for grades K-5 with thousands of small children that she prefers
"broiled, baked or fried/with french fries on the side." She
also plays tour guide for out-of-state family and friends. In her copious
spare time, she writes poetry and fantasy fiction, is a founding member
of the Stoneham Writers Group, sews medieval garb, works on cross
stitch projects and tries to keep a clean house.
